Drymer V0.5 Electric bike produces 255 watts

Drymer V0.5 Electric Bike
Drymer has produced a working three wheeled electric bike prototype, and the way electric bikes go, theirs looks pretty snazzy. The three wheeler, named the v0.5, boasts a motor capable of producing 250 watts, which will reach a maximum speed of 25 km/h. If your face tends to melt at such speeds, purchase with caution.

The wheels at the front ensure a smooth ride, as they lean to support the rider during sharp turns. The bike also features a paddle assist system that allows the amount of power delivered to the motor to be user controlled, for better battery preservation. The v0.5 will be available with a cover, which will make the rider look like Einstein, or without a cover, which will make the rider look like an Avril Lavigne video extra. The dates for release are not yet finalized, but the price is expected to be a cool $8700.

This is an excellent blog for electric bicycles. There are not too many around like this. Thanks for making this such an interesting subject. Oh, by the way, Wired Magazine has a great article on hybrid cars this month. (Jan 2008 issue).

    God Bless,

  2. The extrnal chasis or body meaning the overhead cover/ faring.
Im very interrested in that portion only for application to an almost enclosed motocycle for inclimate weather riding.

  3. This 0.5 looks pretty good. Interesting design. However, the $8000 price tag is steep. With the advent of hundreds of low-cost designs now emerging from China and India, I believe that Drymer will have a run for their money. Maybe they should look into getting it made in China or India to reduce the manufacturing costs. There is no reason that this could not be made for around $2000 in sufficient quantities.

Anyway, I wish them the best of luck, and I do say that I find their design to be ingenious.

  4. That’s a great idea.

Less cars and more electric bicycles.

Hopefully they will be cheaper in the future.

  5. 1. $2000.00 would be a great price.
    2. How does it break? Disc, regeneration?
    3. Is that a safety belt I see? Is that a good idea?
    4. Mirrors would be good.

    Excellent design!!

  6. Nice design, to expensive
for me. It is still a bicycle, wishthem the best.

  7. Wow anything over eight thousand dollars for a bike is to much two thousand is fair but for the price I frankly would rather get a real electric car……

  8. Nice design and tecnology, but to expensive, almost as a car (pontiac matiz) and it is still a bike, best wishes
