FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VELO CLUB LA GRANGE NAMED OFFICIAL CLUB
OF THE START TO FINISH MS BIKE TOUR

LOS ANGELES, September 24th, 2007: Velo Club La Grange, one of Southern California’s largest and most established cycling organizations, has been named the Official Bike Club of the 2007 Santa Barbara START TO FINISH MS BIKE TOUR. In just its second year, turnout for the two-day ride on Saturday and Sunday, October 20th and 21st, 2007, is expected to draw more than 1000 riders and be supported by 300 volunteers.

Billed as one of the most rewarding and scenic bike rides in Southern California, the MS Bike Tour offers something for everyone: one-day or two-day rides and routes of all types to satisfy a broad range of experience levels, from recreational riders to elite level cyclists.

La Grange board member Neil Leventhal says the Club’s participation is in keeping with its long tradition of community service. “We’re excited to be participating in a leadership role with the Start to Finish MS Bike Tour,” says Leventhal. “With an active membership of 500 members, many of whom have years of experience in both racing and recreational cycling, Velo Club La Grange is providing a number of benefits and opportunities for the MS Bike Tour.” The Club’s support includes:

• Training rides and clinics for all participants, announced via email to MS Bike Tour registered riders;

• Access to the Club’s numerous skills clinics, and Club time trial competitions.

• Route support for riders during the MS 150. The Club’s large membership of experienced cyclists will provide an encouraging and supportive vibe on the road.

• Donation of the Club’s finish line arch.

• Fundraising for MS research either through pledges or an upcoming fund raising event (to be announced).

According to Leventhal, “the MS Bike Tour is an attractive post-season ride. First, it’s a great cause. Many of our riders will be riding for friends or family whose lives are impacted by Multiple Sclerosis. For others, there’s the social aspect of it, both in the opportunity for camaraderie in a training schedule as well as the opportunity to meet and ride with new friends during the ride itself. And for serious cyclists, there is the option of a few major climbs on the ride. By taking on the role of Official Club, we want to put our seal of approval on it, and invite members of other clubs to join in and lend their support to this important cause,” concludes Leventhal.
