I wish I knew Latin better so I could find a word meaning “name change”. Maybe something like mutocognomen. Anyway, I got tired of calling myself bfntg and decided I needed to call myself something more meaningful and relevant to cycling. So I’m re-introducing myself under my new nom de Bicycle blog, Velociraptor.

My new moniker is an acknowledgment that I’m a tad older than Veloguy and it’s also a nod to my older son’s ability to name over 100 different dinosaurs… the kind of beasts my son must think I rode as a boy growing up in the bicycling heaven of Princeton, New Jersey. And the velo part… well, that’s obvious.

My transformation inspired some art I may turn into some CafePress swag for myself… click the image for full size.

No complaints from the peanut gallery… at least I didn’t change my name to The Bicycle.net Blogger Formerly Known as BFNTG.
