VeloGuy’s Pictures From The Amgen Tour of California - more to come….
I am VeloGuy, and I am now a cycling photog. I grabbed my Canon Rebel XD with my zoom lens and set out to get pictures from a more enthusiast’s point of view. I took over 800 pictures from The Amgen Tour of California on Stage 5 and Stage 7. The experience of being part of the media mob was a little overwhelming at first. But no more than 30 minutes into the stage I was pushing and shoving with the best of them, determined to get the perfect angle for the the perfect photo.
The first photo’s that I am going to post are from Stage 7. The Long Beach Crit race.
This first photo was taken before the race started but after the riders where called to the start line. I am on the course, standing no more than 100 feet from the riders:
Here is the roll out at the start. Levi Leipheimer taking the lead right from the gun:

This photo is taken at the half way mark of lap #1. Right after this photo was taken a break got loose and stayed away almost to the finish:
The Disco Train with Levi tucked in tight, right where he is supposed to be. Disco stayed in this formation thru-out the whole race:
Cruising the crowds was the 2006 Tour de France winner Floyd Landis. I had the opportunity to go and talk to Floyd for a few minutes which I will post in a week or so. But Floyd was walking without any limp, and was all smiles. Looks like his case is going good for him.
Check back often. I will post my pictures. But if you have some of your own. Send them to us, we would like to post them for you.
