Andreas Kloden of Astana To Compete At The Tour of Spain
RENNES, France, Aug 24, 2008 (AFP) - German rider Andreas Kloden, who was twice runner-up in the Tour de France, will compete in the Tour of Spain from August 30 to September 21, his Astana team said Sunday.
Kloden, opted for the Vuelta over the Tour of Germany, to support Spanish teammate Alberto Contador, winner of the 2007 Tour de France and 2008 Giro d’Italia.
Kloden, runner-up in the Tour de France in 2004 and 2006, did not compete this year after his Astana team was barred from the event.
