Cadel Evans Signs Two-Year Extension With Silence-Lotto
BRUSSELS, Aug 27, 2008 (AFP) - Top Australian cyclist Cadel Evans has signed up with his Silence team for a further two seasons, the Belgian outfit said on Wednesday.
Evans finished second in the Tour de France for the second year in a row at the end of July having worn the yellow jersey for five days. He only finished 58 seconds behind overall winner Carlos Sastre.
Marc Coucke, representing sponsors Silence, said: “This is fantastic news.
There have been a lot of rumors about Cadel leaving for another team but I am happy to be able to count on him till 2010.”
