Heavy Rain Slams Olympic BMX Cycling Competition
BEIJING, Aug 21, 2008 (AFP) - Heavy rain has forced the postponment of Thursday’s semi-finals in the BMX bicycle competition until Friday.
Action in the men’s and women’s events had been due to start at 11:00 am (0300 GMT) but the bad weather saw this intitially put back to 3:00 pm (0700 GMT).
As the downpour continued, a decision was taken to postpone racing until Friday.
