HINCAPIE™ SPORTSWEAR NAMED OFFICIAL CYCLING APPAREL SUPPLIER FOR 2008 TOUR DE GEORGIA

Portable Sublimation Technology Helps Hincapie Print Leader Jerseys On-site

Greenville, SC - Hincapie™ Sportswear, Inc. (Hincapie), a leading manufacturer and marketer of distinctive clothing for the performance cyclist, has been chosen as the official cycling apparel supplier for the 2008 Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T (Tour), North America’s premier, professional cycling event for the third consecutive year. Hincapie will provide premium Tour custom cycling apparel for stage winners, general race and other official category leaders. In addition to being the official cycling apparel supplier to the Tour, Hincapie will also have an extended presence throughout the entire week-long event.

“We are thrilled to continue our support for this prestigious event,” said Rich Hincapie, President of Hincapie Sportswear. “This year’s Tour is shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year. Additionally, our portable sublimation technology is helping raise the race to a new level in cycling apparel support. We’re the only company printing leader’s jerseys for the racers on-site. It’s the same technology they use in the Tour de France and we’re proud to be using it in Georgia.”

Hincapie will produce special jerseys for the Tour, including Best Young Rider, Most Aggressive Rider, King of the Mountain, Sprint and Leaders jerseys, customized with their team sponsor logos. Hincapie uses advanced portable custom sublimation technology—the same technology used in the Tour de France—to print sponsor logos onto the jerseys for each category leader every day. This permanent printing is very popular with the riders and ensures that the logos stay on the leaders jerseys for the life of the product. Hincapie is the only manufacturer in the US currently using this technology. “Hincapie’s on-site printing of the leader’s jerseys, previously found only at the Grand Tours of Europe, helps bring the Tour de Georgia to a new level,” said Chris Aronhalt, managing partner of Medalist Sports and Event Director for the Tour de Georgia.

Fans and race attendees will have the opportunity to purchase official Tour apparel in the Medalist Sports Health and Wellness Exposition area that follows the race from town to town. Official Hincapie apparel will include cycling jerseys, hats and socks.

Tour de France and Tour of California Stage winner George Hincapie will be racing the 2008 event as a lead up to the Tour de France in July. “The Tour de Georgia has always been one of George’s favorite races in the US,” said Rich Hincapie, brother to the 11-time Tour de France veteran. “It’s a treat for fans to see him racing so close to home.”

For more than 50 years, the Hincapies have dedicated themselves to excellence in the sport of cycling. Through Hincapie Sportswear, they are combining the lessons they have learned on the road with excellence in customer service, quality craftsmanship and stylish designs, to create the most comfortable, functional and stylish cycling apparel in the world.
