World champion Ballan to race Paris-Tours, Tour of Lombardy

PARIS, Oct 2, 2008 (AFP) – Italy’s newly-crowned world men’s road race champion Alessandro Ballan will race the last two classics of the season, the Paris-Tours on October 12 and the Tour of Lombardy six days later, his Lampre team said on Thursday.

Ballan, who will wear his rainbow jersey in the Tour of Latium on Sunday, will also race in the Tour of Piedmont on October 16.
