Ivanov wins Tour de Langkawi
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17, 2008 (AFP) - Moldova’s Ruslan Ivanov took the overall
title in Malaysia’s 13th Tour de Langkawi race on Sunday, with Argentina’s
Mauro Richeze winning the ninth and final stage of the event.
Briton Jeremy Hunt pushed ahead on the heels of the Argentine, with Italy’s
Enrico Rossi in third place.
Stage nine of Asia’s biggest race was took place on the streets of the
capital Kuala Lumpur, covering 80.4 kilometres (50 miles).
France’s Matthieu Sprick, who had worn the yellow jersey for several
stages, was 17th, leaving him in second overall.
Serramenti PVC was the overall winning team, with NGC Medical taking the
ninth stage.
