Low Roof - Beware of Bikes On Roofs

So I picked up my bike from Helen’s today powertap supposedly fixed. I get a friendly call from Paul on the way home and we decide to go to dinner. I pick him up and this point all is good… You may ask about road rash and yes Paul still has some from a PCH spill.
Everything was fine until we headed to the fox hills mall and the parking garage. The Audi still loaded with BGP gear, we drive into the parking structure with the Shark fin up (on the roof rack) we hear the exploding sound of seat, seatpost and twisting Yakima racks.
Incredibly The shark will ride again tomorrow. I’m convinced that the Shark is has made it this far in the evolution of life, the little bit of cement didn’t hurt it…much. Any one have a 26.2 or perhaps 26.4 extra long post in box drawer or ready to be thrown out cuz it’s too heavy? I’ll give it an exciting home.
The Next Day
The LA Times reports that the fox hills mall has hired a structural engineer today to ensure that the parking structure is safe to be used by the public due to an undisclosed incident yesterday. Their spokesman said “We hope to have cars using the structure by the end of the week, but this situation is serious and needs, a professional opinion.”
