I would describe this second day of the Tour as an interesting race to commentate on, but a disappointing day. I was very happy for Thor Hushovd, who really does enjoy winning and now has a total of six stage wins to his credit.
He was led to the line by Tour newcomer Mark Renshaw, who joined the team in 2006, but is only now riding his first Tour. Mark is very fast and still only 25 years of age. He was a world record holder in the team pursuit when he rode inside four minutes for Australia with his three teammates in 2002. Now, he has found a new vocation of helping Hushovd win.
