Unexpected Result Rules Another Day

Time trials are always exciting on television because the time checks create suspense. But this short test was a cracker and a victory by Stefan Schumacher was so unexpected.

So for the second day, there was a winner and wearer of the yellow jersey from an unexpected quarter, which is really what we had hoped for from this Tour. Are we seeing a “clean” race without drugs, thereby giving us these different results? Who knows?

Certainly the two American teams have come out fighting and with Garmin-Chipotle’s David Millar taking third by a whisker behind Kim Kirchen, who is now set to be the next yellow jersey.
