Hushovd Leaves Them Gasping

Ouch, that was a tough run in to the finish line in Saint Brieuc and I am certain that a lot of riders didn’t know how tough the final climb into town really was. It left most of the sprinters gasping for breath and slipping away from the front of the pack.
Not so for Thor, the God of Thunder. Hushovd hung tough at the front end of the pack and, like Valverde yesterday, waited for the right moment to pounce. That is the calmness that a great sprinter needs to have in a situation like that. He gave Mark Renshaw the nod that he was good and, at 500 meters to go, the Aussie opened up the gas.
