Ricco Took On Cold d’Aspin

The mountains of the Tour always provide us with a thrilling spectacle and today was no different. Stage 9, the first day in the Pyrenees, it was the Italian Riccardo Ricco with a great attack on the climb of the day, the Col d’Aspin. He was deep all the way to the line, but continued to extend his lead and had no trouble and eventually won the stage by 1:17 over Vladimir Efmikin, who snuck into the second position just ahead of the charging peloton.
