Today was a day for the NOW sprinters. Our own Turbo Chicken put the hammer down on many of yesterday’s gals. Rock, Major Motion, CA Pools-you saw ‘em at Barry Wolfe.?
The race was shortened by about 5 minutes due to something or other, ?but that suits me just fine. The shorter the better. 39 seconds would?be perfect, but we settled at 25 minutes. ??
The race started with the typical “who is gonna sit on the front in?the wind” reticent approach. After a couple of laps it picked up. I?placed myself 4th wheel and fought off the interlopers trying to disturb my nirvana. I did some island hopping but found my 4th position was really the best?so went back up and took it. Yep, elbows and shoulders a bumpin down?the straight a way. When “Miss Thang” saw I was plain gonna push her?off, she finally relented with a most uncheerful ” fine then take it”! ?And so I did. What with an invitation and all, I thought that was mighty nice. ??
We had a break of one off the front but that was brought back in a New York second. This time not by moi. I just sat in like a chicken on an?egg and let everyone else do the work. ?
The race came down to an expected field sprint. I sat third wheel and when turn 4 came by, I was up off the nest and flying down the long?straight away. ??
Case closed…or rather race closed. ??
My kinda day.??
