Roman Feillu. Remember the name. All of France will after he became the new leader of the Tour at the end of what everybody thought would be a routine day before the time trial tomorrow.

I suppose there is no such thing as a routine day and, after American William Frischkorn attacked as soon as the race started, we should have known this was to be a special one.

Joined by three riders they gained over 14 minutes and then, as they turned with the wind and a crash disrupted the chase, the quartet raced for home.
