In a interview in the French Magazine Velo, as well as being reported on the Spanish website Elmundo.es, Lance Armstrong says that he will race in May at the Giro, and not in California at the Amgen Tour of California.
Here is what is being quoted “After a few spring classics, Armstrong will run the Giro d’Italia, after it’s sponsor, well settled in California, he gave the green light to avoid running the Tour of California.”
This all looks pretty bad for the Tour of California. They had to be expecting another Armstrong participation to help boost the race attendance and sponsor interest.
We will have to see how this actually plays out as we get closer to May.
