Sometimes a reporter just happens to be at the right place, right time, with camera in hand and is able to capture a moment that is meant to be missed. Today while at the Amgen Tour of California Bicycle.net good friend Bob Cullinan (CycleTo.com) was interviewing Odessa, the wife of Levi Leipheimer, after he had just won the Solvang Stage 6 Individual time trial.

While conducting the interview with Odessa who was carefully holding her beloved dog Bandit, Bob got just a little too close to Odessa, and Bandit like the good protector he is, lashed out and bit Bob on the finger. No harm was done to Bob other than a little blood, and Bandit had a look of satisfaction all over his face.

Word on the street is that Bob will live, and needed nothing more than a Speed Racer band-aid. And Bandit, well he is still standing tall.

In all seriousness, it nothing more than a slight misunderstanding between Bandit and Bob and they have put this behind them and are still good buddies. Odessa, as always, was her regal self, and felt bad for Bob and kept apologizing. My thought is that she has nothing to apologize for, Bandit was just doing his little dog job.
