Christoph Sauser is the current UCI World cross country champion who rides with the Specialized Factory Racing team. Christoph presented us (Bike Pure) with his jersey to assist the mission of the anti-doping organization. He was the biggest name Bike Pure signed in the early stages of our campaign last summer. Having the best off road rider in the world was a fantastic boost for the campaign.

We used Sauser’s rainbow jersey during the 2009 season to show young cyclists that you can win clean. Traveling around, displaying the symbol of the fastest off-roader on the planet, who rides Clean- is a great boost for the image of cycling. Giving fans and young athletes a hero they can trust and believe in.

We are now auctioning off the one off jersey in aid of Christophe’s children’s charity Songo.info which he started with team mate Burry Stander in the winelands of Cape Town. Sauser has spent 7 winters in South Africa and last year decided to use the joy and beauty of cyclesport to improve the lives of the disadvantaged kids near his training routes. The aim of Songo.info is to impact the children of Kayamandi via sport and education. Kids in townships have very limited opportunities for education and play. Sport crosses these barriers and broadens kids life skills, keeping them away from the path of drugs and crime.
