Tina Pic and Kelly Benjamin Lead Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team for Liberty Classic

Linden, NJ (June 4, 2009) – The Colavita/Sutter Home Cycling Men’s Team presented by Cooking Light, the #2 team in the US, announces its roster for the 25th running of the Philadelphia International Championship on June 7th.

The eight-man squad will be led by Sebastian Haedo, #2 in the US with five victories to date; Alejandro Borrajo, winner of the Clarendon Cup stage of the US Air Force Cycling Classic; and Davide Frattini, winner of the King of the Mountain competition in the 2008 edition of the 156-mile race, sponsored by TD Bank and presented by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“We’ve had great success on the East Coast this season, with back-to-back victories at the Tour of Somerville and the Clarendon Cup,” said Directeur Sportif Sebastian Alexandre. “The Philadelphia International Championship is one of the toughest races on the calendar but we’ve got a strong and experienced squad that’s ready for the challenges.”

Reigning NRC Champion Tina Pic and sprinter Kelly Benjamin will lead the Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light in the 57.6-mile Liberty Classic that will also take place on June 7th. Pic and Benjamin will be joined by Cath Cheatley, who represented her native New Zealand at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and Rachel Heal, who represented the UK in the road race at the Olympic Games in Athens. Cheatley, currently #10 in the NRC Women’s Individual Standings, finished 6th in last week’s Montreal World Cup.
