This weekend marks the 3rd of 8 consecutive weekends of Collegiate and USA Cycling racing in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference with a co-hosted weekend promoted by University of Colorado-Boulder and the University of Northern Colorado-Greeley. Saturday’s fast-paced criterium racing will take place at Boulder’s Research Park with collegiate racing in the morning followed by USA Cycling open category races in the afternoon. On Sunday, UNC will host their Promontory Park Criterium to have two speed-filled days of spectator-friendly bike racing.
Last weekend highlighted depths of talent that began with the University of Denver’s City Park Criterium in Denver on Saturday. Taking top honors in the Collegiate Men’s A field was University of Colorado-Boulder rider, Kiel Reijnen, who also just represented the UCI Continental Pro Team, Jelly Belly in the Amgen Tour of California just weeks ago. In the Collegiate Women’s A race, Julia Manley picked up the win for Colorado State University-Rams Cycling Team. Sunday, Metropolitan State College Roadrunner Time Trial at Bear Creek Park hosted the first Individual Time Trial and Team Time Trial races of the season with strong showings from teams across the conference.
