DUNKIRK, France, May 6, 2009 (AFP) – France’s Jimmy Engoulvent won the second stage of the Four Days of Dunkirk cycle race in northern France on Wednesday.
The Besson Chaussures rider completed the 178.9km course between Coudekerque-Branche and Arques in a time of 4hr 34min 31sec, beating Germany’s Andre Greipel on the line.
Greipel, who rides for the Columbia team, inherited the pink jersey as overall race leader. France’s Loyd Mondory (AG2R) took the third podium place.
The third stage, a 228.1km race between Bleriot-Plage and Bethune, takes place on Thursday.
