[26.01 20:41] Team Saxo Bank took the first victory of the season in the final stage of Tour de San Luis.

In the 167-kilometer stage with start and finish in San Luis Juan José Haedo added another brilliant victory to his already impressive track record.

“A perfect finale for us in every way. With three second places we had to do everything in our power to finish off this race with a victory for JJ. Matti and Lasse Bøchman were in a break for a long time but were caught by the peloton and then it was up to JJ to do what he does best. With three second places there’s no doubt we’ve made our mark in almost every stage and with today’s win we got what we came for thanks to a great moral from our riders and a fantastic effort by everyone,” said a very satisfied Torsten Schmidt following the last stage of the South American race.
