[26.08 22:03] Tonight in the street race, Sparkassen Vesthimmerland GP in Aars, Denmark Team Saxo Bank’s Frank Høj demonstrated a peaking condition after participating in Vattenfall CyClassics and Eneco Tour. Singlehandedly, he caught the early breakaway which he left soon after to do an impressive solo ride on the circular route throughout the final 25 minutes of the race.
“The break escaped after only six laps and with the knowledge of most races like these are being decided early, I closed the gap alone soon after. The route, with a cobblestone road of 5-600 meters on the finish line was a perfect fit to me and for the last 25 minutes of the race I was alone in the front. Now I will focus on maintaining the shape and I will participate in as many races as possible with the hope of being picked out for the World Cup”, said a delighted Frank Høj after the victory.
