The crowd that lined the finishing straight for the Ster Elektrotoer
(say: Stirr then make a spit noise) went nearly silient when big top came into view with 75 to go, but erupted when the yellow thunder of German Andrè Greipel put ten yards into Napolitano and Boonan to win the second stage of the 5 day event in southern Netherlands. Obviously the loudest cheer of the day was for the local hero Niki Terpstra of Team Milram, who held on to yellow, by measured, streamlined riding from his team, to bring back the early move which still had 1 min 25 with 13 km remaining. Great racing.

Tomorrow the riders have another flat 179km stage into Belgium.

Unless the peloton lets an early move go, it will be another money day for the gallopers.
