JUAN JOSE HAEDO WON STAGE 2 OF TOUR DE WALLONIE

[26.07 16:57] The Team Saxo Bank riders were once again very visible on today’s 210 kilometer long second stage of Tour de Wallonie. Thus, both Michael Mørkøv, Juan Jose Haedo and André Steensen alternately launched attacks from the peloton to try their luck and thereby underlined the riders’ immediate hunger for victory which sports director, Bradley McGee announced yesterday.

But it was a quartet consisting of Maryan Hary (Cofidis), Martin Kohler (BMC), Kevin Neirynck (Landbouwkrediet) and Vincent Jérôme (Bbox) who escaped from the peloton halfway through the stage and with 30 kilometres to go they had a lead of two minutes to the chasing peloton.

The front group was, however inhaled on the very last kilometres of the stage leaving the stage win to be decided among the sprinters where Team Saxo Bank rider, André Steensen was showing himself again. But it was Team Saxo Bank’s Argentinean sprinter, Juan Jose Haedo who crossed the finish line as the first rider in superior style taking the stage victory.
