USA CHAMPION KATIE COMPTON (SPIKE) JOINS BIKE PURE AND CARRIES ANTI-DOPING SPACER IN WORLD CYCLO CROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS:

World renowned cyclo-cross rider and multi USA National Champion Katie Compton (Spike) is the latest pro rider to add her name to anti-doping organisation Bike Pure. Katie took bronze at last weekend’s World Cyclo-Cross Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands along with several World Cup wins during the cyclo-cross season.

Compton is a strong supporter of Bike Pure’s anti-doping stance and carried the Bike Pure headset spacer on her race bikes during the World Championship race (photo attached). Compton is not only a world class off road rider but she also assisted Karissa Whitsell to collect a medal of every colour in the
2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece and breaking the World 3km pursuit record in the process.

Bike Pure is a non profit organization aimed at restoring some integrity to professional cycling after recent doping scandals. Fans, riders and teams can add their names via the Bike Pure website. Other riders of note who have added their names include Nicolas Roche (AG2r), Baden Cooke (Vacansoleil), Daniel Lloyd (Cérvelo Test Team) and Rebecca Rusch (Team Specialized). Bike Pure is totally independent and survives on donations alone that can be made through its website. Their site carries daily news and resources on doping in sport.
