HARELBEKE, Belgium, March 28, 2009 (AFP) – Italy’s Filippo Pozzato of the Katusha team won the Grand Prix cycliste de l’E3 here on Saturday, ahead of breakaway companions Belgian sprinter Tom Boonen and Kazakh Maxim Iglinsky.

Norway’s Thor Hushovd won the sprint for fourth place ahead of Belgian Stijn Devolder and France’s Sylvain Chavanel, 38 seconds behind the winner.

Boonen, winner of the event between 2004 and 2007, was forced into taking the lead in the home straight and was overtaken in the final 100m by former teammate Pozzato.
