Product Review: SKINS Cycle Bib Short
Product Review: SKINS Cycle Bib Short

Over the last year or so it would have been hard to avoid hearing about the technology of compression recovery clothing. There is certainly no shortage of manufactures that are putting out good quality product that works really well for the post ride recovery. So when Bicycle.net spoke with the company SKINS and they told us about their bib shorts that use BioAcceleration Technology™, we jumped at the opportunity to test them out.

With their unique design and construction that applies just the right amount of engineered gradient compression to the muscles, the SKINS bib shorts ensure that you experience a scientifically proven circulatory benefit that will improve your performance on the bike. The shorts also help speed your recovery off the bike the moment you finish your ride.

I have been wearing the SKINS bib shorts for the last two months and am more than impressed; I am blown away. I have cycling kits made by a wide variety of manufactures, and I find these to be as, if not more, comfortable than any pair I have. It did take about 10 minutes to get used to how tight they feel, but once you get accustomed to the tight fit, you will not give them a second thought.

They fit me perfect. The Multi-D Elastic Interface Technology chamois was ultra absorbent, and did not create any points of friction.

The one outstanding benefit was that with the BioAcceleration Technology™, the buildup of lactic acid was noticeable delayed. Also, the lactic acid in your legs clears out faster than with conventional bib shorts.
So far the SKINS bib shorts have proven themselves to be of the highest quality. We have had no seams start to unravel, no pulls in the lycra, and they have not shown any wear even after over 25 washes.
Over the last few months the SKINS bib shorts have become my “go to” shorts. They have proven to be a true performer, and Bicycle.net recommends them 100%.
