Five-Time US National Criterium Champion Claims Overall Title for
Second Straight Year
Linden, NJ (May 8, 2009) — Tina Pic of the Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light captured the 2009 USA Crits Speedweek Series overall title for the second consecutive year. The five-time US National Criterium Champion was on the podium in every event in the six-race women’s series, including wins at the Historic Roswell (GA) Criterium and the Global BMW Sandy Springs Criterium.
Celebrating her victory, Tina thanked her Colavita/Sutter Home teammates Erica Allar, Nicki Wangsgard, Kelly Benjamin, and guest rider Carmen McNellis for their hard work and support to deliver her to the finish line in six races over eight days. Tina added, “I was particularly proud to share the podium with Kelly Benjamin and celebrate her win at the Beaufort Memorial Criterium.”
The USA Crits Speedweek Series includes six of the fastest criteriums held on American soil. Colavita/Sutter Home colors were represented on the podium in every race:
• Athens (GA) Twilight Criterium, April 25: Tina Pic finished 2nd
• Historical Roswell (GA) Criterium, April 26: Tina Pic finished 1st
• Beaufort (SC) Memorial Criterium, April 28: Kelly Benjamin finished 1st, Tina Pic 3rd
• Downtown Walterboro (SC) Criterium, April 29: Tina Pic finished 2nd, Erica Allar 4th
• Spartanburg (SC) Criterium, May 1: Tina Pic finished 3rd
• Global BMW Sandy Springs (GA) Criterium, May 3: Tina Pic finished first 1st

The Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team resumes racing on May 16th at the Bank of America Wilmington (DE) Grand Prix followed by Baltimore’s Kelly Cup on May 17th. The team then travels to New Jersey where Tina Pic will race to defend her title at the historic Tour of Somerville.
