Tony Cruz Signs With Rock Racing

Tony Cruz Signs With Rock Racing

We just got off the phone with Tony Cruz of BMC who has confirmed that he has signed with Rock Racing for the 2010 season. Cruz has proved that he is a true team rider and it makes sense that Michael Ball and Rock Racing would want him on the team.

Cruz spent time racing in Europe at the 2005 Giro d’Italia and was the teammate of overall winner Paolo Savoldelli.

In our interview with Michael Ball two weeks ago he discussed the new team view, the new equipment, and some of the changes he was making to the team. Ball mentioned some big signings to be announced soon, and it seems the signing of Tony Cruz may just be the start. Rumors are flying that non other than Floyd Landis will also race in 2010 with Rock Racing.

With “Fast Freddy” coming back, and the late season addition of Ivan Dominquez Rock Racing could be very well be on there way to racing competitively in Europe.

One Response to “Tony Cruz Signs With Rock Racing”

  1. I’m a little surprised that Tony Cruz went from BMC, a team making a great leap forward next year, to Rock Racing? All indications are that team is built on eggshells.

Maybe Rock is the Canary in the coal mine for the economy? If enough people are buying $300 jeans that it can support a pro team I guess it’s a good omen.

Tony always comes across as a class guy. I hope the Ball does right by him (and none of that “You’re on the amateur squad” BS)
