U.S. Pro Championships Return To Greenville For 2010
The U.S. professional road championships will return to Greenville, South Carolina, on September 18-19, 2010.
The new dates for the U.S. Pro Road Championships puts the race almost one month later than on previous years, which creates a conflict with other races. They include the Tour of Missouri, a couple of UCI ProTour events, and the Australian world road championships.
Sean Petty (USA Cycling COO) claims the change of dates was out of USA Cyclings hands and is grateful for the cities understanding.
“While the date change was out of our hands, the result is a good one, ” Petty said.
George Hincapie said “The new dates should fit nicely into a very exciting fall schedule,” Hincapie said. “I’m proud to have won the Championship for the third time and I’m looking forward to defending the title with my new team, BMC Racing. … It looks like my season will end up with great races like the Tour of Missouri, the new Canadian Pro Tour events, the US Pro Championships and the World Championships.”
