LOS ANGELES, April 29, 2010 (AFP) – American cyclist Lance Armstrong, a testicular cancer survivor and seven time Tour de France champ, announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting their second child in a year.
Armstrong made the announcement using the social networking site Twitter indicating that the new born could arrive in October. It would be the fifth child for Armstrong who also has three children from a former wife.
“Getting ?’s today about someone I’m following, a certain @Cincoarmstrong. What to say? Yet another blessing in our lives. I cannot wait!” he wrote on his Twitter page Thursday.
Armstrong hinted at the pregnancy last week when he wrote, “I got 2 arms, 2 legs, a nickname, and i’m 2 inches long. See y’all in October.”
Armstrong and his girlfriend Anna Hansen had a son, Max, last summer.
Armstrong is competing this week in the Tour of Gila.
