Aussie Tour Badboy Renshaw Out Of Delhi

NEW DELHI, Oct 3, 2010 (AFP) – Australian cyclist Mark Renshaw, who was famously thrown off the Tour de France for head-butting a rival, has withdrawn from the Commonwealth Games because of health reasons.

Australian chef de mission Steve Moneghetti said Sunday that Renshaw had opted out of the tournament because he did not want to aggravate a previous unspecified health problem.

Renshaw has been replaced on the Delhi team by Michael Matthews who won the world under-23 road race title in Geelong last week.

Renshaw was kicked off the Tour de France in July after trying to head-butt New Zealand rival Julian Dean.
