Tirreno-Adriatico, Stage 3: BMC Holding Position
Following a third straight bunch sprint finish Friday at Tirreno-Adriatico, the BMC Racing Team is poised for the longest stage of the race. Saturday’s 243 km route is up and down all the way – and finishes going up.
Hincapie Hoping For Good Form
BMC Racing Team Director Sportif John Lelangue said the priority was keeping Cadel Evans in position on a day when the sun made its first appearance. One rider helping the world champion was George Hincapie, who lost several minutes on Stage 1 due to a late puncture. “I have not been feeling great and am just trying to get some racing under my belt,” the U.S. national road champion said. “Hopefully the good form will come soon.” Daniele Bennati (Liquigas-Doimo) won Stage 3 and took the overall lead.
