BERLIN – Canada’s Clara Hughes, a multiple speed skater Olympic medalist, has the ambition at 38 years old to participate in cycling events at the 2012 Olympics in London.

“Jeannie Longo has taken her 51 years of age to a 5th place in the 2010 World Championships road race. “Hughes was justified according to comments reported by German agency SID.

Hughes will try to obtain her qualification for the team pursuit on the Track and individual time trial.

The Canadian will return to her first love, having already won two medals in cycling at the Olympics-1996.

She then devoted herself to speed skating when she won a Olympic title in 2006 and a bronze medal at the Olympics in Vancouver.
