Colavita/Baci Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light Announce Rosters for California Races -Rushlee Buchanan to Represent New Zealand at UCI World Track Championships

Linden, NJ (March 12, 2009) — The Colavita/Baci Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light will open the 2010 racing season in California with the San Dimas Stage Race and Redlands Bicycle Classic.

“We’re planning six days of intense training in San Diego’s Borrego Valley,” said co-Directeur Sportif Tina Pic. “We will be looking forward to testing our legs in San Dimas.”

“Kelly Benjamin and Modesta Vzesniauskaite gave us a great preview at last weekend’s Merco Credit Union Classic,” said co-Directeur Sportif Rachel Heal. “Kelly took third in the road race and Modesta finished both races in the top 10 so I’m confident we can expect even more podium finishes with the whole squad working together.”

Heal and Pic also announced that Colavita/Baci newcomer Rushlee Buchanan has been selected for the New Zealand national team’s women’s team pursuit squad for the UCI Track World Championships in Denmark. Buchanan, who recently captured the New Zealand Road Race Championship title, is also New Zealand’s reigning National Criterium Champion. She will re-join her Colavita/Baci teammates at the conclusion of the world championship.
