Flèche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege Route Changes

PARIS, April 14, 2010 (AFP) – The route of the two Belgian Ardennes classics, La Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege, next week will include several changes from previous editions.

In the Fleche Wallonne (198 km) on Wednesday, the direction of the two loops leading to the final climb of the Mur de Huy was reversed. “So the second ascent is not only about thirty miles from the ultimate explanation,” said the organizer (ASO).

The finale of this 74th edition also provides an extra climb (Ereffe), whose summit is located 11 kilometers from the finish in Huy.

The route of Liege-Bastogne-Liege (April 25), total length of 258 kilometers, had to be revised because of impassable roads near Stavelot.

The coasts of High-Lift and Vecquée have been replaced by Mount Theux Maquisard and at the approach of the last 50 kilometers before returning to the final climbs of the “Dean” (La Redoute, La Roche-aux Falcons-Saint-Nicolas).

The 25 teams selected for the two races:
Germany: Milram
