Freire To Spearhead Rabobank Giro Bid
PARIS, May 3, 2010 – Spaniard Oscar Freire, winner of the Milan-Sanremo race in March, will spearhead the Rabobank team on the Tour of Italy which gets under way on Saturday.
The three-time world champion – 1999, 2001, 2004 – will line up for the first time in the Giro, the only major tour on which he has not won a stage.
Freire has won seven stages of the Tour of Spain and four on the Tour de France.
