The RadioShack team of Lance Armstrong will be heading Sunday to the Amstel Gold Race. But a different American (other than Armstrong) will be the team leader, that rider is Chris Horner, who won last Saturday’s Tour of the Basque Country.

Horner, who is 38 years old, has never won a classic.

The other leaders of the U.S. team (Armstrong, Leipheimer, Klöden) are absent from the group that will participate in the Dutch event.
