HTC-Columbia’s Van Dijk Wins In Holland
San Luis Obispo, CA – 30th April 2010 – HTC-Columbia’s Ellen Van Dijk decidedly won the Ronde Van Geldrop criterium in her homeland of Holland Friday. The 23-year-old Dutch rider and HTC-Columbia teammate Ina-Yoko Teutenberg of Germany launched an aggressive start of the 66-kilometer long criterium.
“After about ten minutes I attacked, and Ina and I worked together to the finish. It was really cool,” commented Van Dijk. “The course was less than 2-kilometres, with lots of corners. It was a hard course, and in the morning it rained, but we had good conditions during the race.
“Next week we go to China for the Tour of Chongming Island World Cup race, so this was great preparation and I’m feeling strong for that.”
