Italy’s Visconti Wins Tour of Turkey

ANKARA, April 18, 2010 (AFP) – Italy’s Giovanni Visconti won the Tour of Turkey Sunday, triumphing in an eight-stage, 1,232-kilometre race from Istanbul to the Mediterranean resort of Alanya.

Visconti, part of the ISD-Neri team, was followed home by Tejay Van Garderen of the United States, and David Moncoutie of France.

German cyclist Andre Greipel won the final, 158.5-kilometre stage, held Sunday from the Mediterranean city of Antalya to Alanya.
