[09.03 17:02] As expected, the second and 201 kilometer long second stage of Paris Nice ended in a mass sprint where Team Saxo Bank’s fast Argentinean, Juan Jose Haedo finished fifth. William Bonnet (Liquigas) surprisingly took the stage ahead of Peter Sagan (Liquigas) and Luis Leon Sanchez (Caisse d’Epargne).
”It was an ice-cold day in the peloton where the riders were drained for power because of the low temperatures. When we knew the stage would end in a mass sprint, JJ (Haedo) put himself in a favorable position behind Lampre. Unfortunately, they crashed right in front of him which kind of ruined his chances of winning. Fortunately, we haven’t experienced any mishaps”, said Kim Andersen after the stage.
Tomorrow’s stage is 208 kilometers from Saint-Junien to Aurillac.
