Le Lay Out of Tour After Stage Three Crash
ARENBERG, France – Frenchman David Le Lay became the latest crash victim of the Tour de France on Tuesday, the AG2R rider being forced to leave the race after suffering apparent collarbone injuries.
Stage three on the race features seven cobblestoned sections totaling 13km that were set to take a heavy toll on a peloton which, after just two days, has suffered more than its fair share of spills and injuries.
Climbing specialist Le Lay crashed on a relatively smooth section of road just after the halfway stage of the 213km ride from Wanze in Belgium to here and pulled out of the race.
