PARIS, May 4, 2010 – The National League of Cycling said yesterday that they are not involved in the proceedings following the positive drug test of rider Mickael Larpe (Roubaix-Lille Metropole) that dates back to March.
“To date, the league president has not been notified of this control, which is also in line with procedures. The notification is made to the Disciplinary Committee of the Federation,” stated Marc Madiot, the president of the League, in response to information being reported in various media outlets.
Mickael Larpe, 24, was remanded into custody on Tuesday morning in Angouleme, along with two members of his family, his brother Sebastian and his father Michael, all as part of a judicial inquiry opened in March 2010.
Larpe, who rides with the Continental level (third division) team, testied positive for EPO at Cholet-Pays de Loire race that was played March 21.
