Michael Rogers Leads Pro Tour After California

The USA Cycling Professional Tour continued, May 16-23, with the AMGEN Tour of California.

After eight days of racing on more than 800 miles of California roads, Australian Michael Rogers (Team HTC-Columbia) grabbed the overall win in the UCI 2.HC event ahead of Dave Zabriskie (Los Angeles, Calif./Garmin-Transitions) and Levi Leipheimer (Santa Rosa, Calif./Team Radioshack). Rogers also gained the lead in the USA Cycling Pro Tour Standings with 192 points compared to the 128 accumulated so far by the second-ranked Zabriskie.

With two of the nine events on the 2010 USA Cycling Professional Tour complete, the standings are as follows:

Individual Standings
1. Michael Rogers (Australia/Team HTC-Columbia) – 192
2. Dave Zabriskie (Los Angeles, Calif./Garmin-Transitions) – 128
3. Levi Leipheimer (Santa Rosa, Calif./Team Radioshack) – 74
4. Peter Sagan (SLO/Liquigas-Doimo) – 71
5. Ryder Hesjedal (CAN/Garmin-Transitions) – 55

Team Standings

The 2010 USA Cycling Professional Tour will continue with the UCI 1.HC Philadelphia International Championship on June 6.
