LA PANNE, Belgium, April 1, 2010 (AFP) – Britain’s David Millar secured overall victory in the Three Days of La Panne stage race thanks to his win in the final half-stage time trial over 14km on Thursday.
David Millar, who races with the American team Garmin, finished first in the race against the clock to hold off Dutchman Liewe Westra by five seconds and Canadian Svein Tuft by 24.
Earlier Thursday Garmin teammate Tyler Farrar took out the 114km stage.
In the final standings Millar finished ahead of Ukrainian Andrei Grivko and Italian Luca Paolini.
