Ritte Cycles has emerged as one of the sexiest bike companies in recent memory. Although only about one year old, Ritte has become a worldwide recognized brand that has taken the boring old carbon frame and turned it into a full blown work of art. It is impossible to ignore the true beauty of the Bosberg’s paint design, and Belgium color influences. We all know that good looks do not make a bike frame perform, but it certainly does create a high level of ownership pride. There has not been one ride that we have taken our Bosberg on that we do not get stopped and asked who made the bike, and how good looking it is. In fact, Ritte Cycles believes (at least their marketing says so) that the Bosberg will make you roughly 240% more attractive, and 312% more intimidating.
The Bosberg weighs in at a little less than 1000 grams (size medium) with the seat mast still uncut. The fork with the uncut steerer weighs in at a scant 350 grams. Build it up with your SRAM Red Groupo and a pair of racing tubulars and you have yourself a 14 pound two wheeled adrenaline inducing racing machine.
At Bicycle.net we have been fortunate enough to ride some of the best and most expensive bikes ever made so we have a pretty good base to judge a bike. So when it came to the Ritte Bosberg we were prepared for another average performer. But we were proved wrong from the very first ride and every ride after that. The Bosberg is a true elite bike frame that performs at the highest level. It is stiff as any bike on the market, it climbs, it descends, and it is a rocket launcher on the flats. We have ridden the Bosberg in crit races, road races, and hill climbs and have felt if the Bosberg was able to perform like a true champion.
On one particular training ride we did around 70 miles with like 30 miles of climbing. And as we all know the best part of climbing is the descending. The Bosberg has an amazing ability to transfer your leg power to the asphalt where it belongs. We felt no loss of power transfer or flex from the Bosberg. It is stiff and responsive as we got out of the saddle and starting grinding big gears. But what really inspired me was the Bosberg’s handling. It took all of about two high speed descending apexes to know that this bike rides on rails. The guys I ride with know that I am a conservative descender and will usually trail behind. But not on the Bosberg. I was so confident in the bikes handling that I left all my riding buddies behind and had even created a gap on them. This bike ROCKS!
I could go on and on about the virtues of the Ritte Cycle Bosberg. But all you need to know is that you are getting a true PRO bike at a screaming good price. And it is the best looking bike out there.
Here are some quotes from other Bosberg riders;
” I was blown away by its combination of excellent ride quality without sacrificing any power when I needed it. Sharp cornering at high speeds was delightful and added confidence building around each turn. The feeling of road stability and controlled responsiveness was a combined experience I had never had before in a bike.”
“Over the years I have ridden and raced on Specialized, Lemond, Cannondale and Colnago. The Bosberg is as stiff and faster to accelerate as any of the others, on the flats or in the hills it is easy to ride. Where the Ritte bike leaves these others in the dust is handling. I have never been on a bike that corners as well as the Bosberg. Since I got my Bosberg I haven’t touched my other bikes.”
When you get a Ritte bicycle you are getting more than just a two wheeled vehicle. What you also get is the knowing that you are part of the Ritte brotherhood (or sisterhood). A group of riders that believes in riding hard, harder than you ever believed you could and putting the hurt on anyone unlucky enough to be riding with you. You get to be part of a movement that believes that cycling is fun, and should not be taken too seriously. Ride Hard, Ride Ritte, and then drink some beer.
