Prolong Energy is pleased to announce that it will be the official sports drink sponsor of California Bicycle Racing in 2010. The Sunset Beach, Ca, based non-profit whose mission it is to “Grow the sport one racer at a time” produces criteriums and bicycle road races throughout California from January to September each year. In addition to their weekend race schedule, CBR also puts on a Tuesday evening race series at El Dorado Park in Long Beach. And for the 2010 racing year CBR will be promoting a new Thursday evening race series held at Great Park in Lake Forest to benefit the Bahati Foundation. Details on the series will be released in the coming weeks.

We are a small and local company that enjoys working at the grassroots level. We fully support CBR’s mission and almost familial approach to race production. That they include things like skills clinics for new riders prior to each race is great. I know as a Cat. 5 rider, I definitely learned a quite a bit listening to Chris Lotts give a clinic prior to my race at Dominguez Hills. We’re working with quite a few teams in the area, too, so it’ll be great for us to get out and show our support for these guys and girls in the trenches, so to speak.”
